A Joint Project with Ohio's Lorain, Medina and Wayne Counties

From the rolling hills of Amish Country, to the gentle slopes of Lake Erie, this tri-county region, just southwest of Cleveland, offers a variety of activities that families can explore to learn about the rural way of living.

Homemade ice cream, fresh from the dairy, scented geraniums, fresh strawberries and sweet corn, handmade crafts and meticulous gardens can be found on your journey through Fresh Ohio!, the counties of Lorain, Medina and Wayne.

This website will give you a start to discovering what the region has to offer. However, to fully appreciate the countryside we encourage you to explore and find your own favorites. MEDINA COUNTY ONE-DAY TOUR, ITINERARY #1

8:30am-10:00am
Visit Buehler's Fresh Food market and enjoy a healthy muffin and coffee, a cooking demonstration and a tour of the supermarket.

10:20am-11:30am
Your next stop is Boyert's Greenhouse where you will enjoy a garden talk. Stroll through the gift shop and receive a small plant.

12:00pm-2:00pm
Mapleside Farms will be your next stop. Here you will enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Apple Farm Restaurant. Be sure to take a look out the windows overlooking the orchard in the valley. Then take a short tour of the Apple House. See where they wash and sort apples and press the cider. Be sure to get a cool refreshing glass of cider. Then take time to check out the gift shop, apple house and bakery before you leave.

2:30pm-3:30pm
Stop by Hollo's Papercraft where you will find paper, cardstock, envelopes, handmade papers, scrap booking supplies, blank printable Christmas, Thanksgiving and wedding invitations. Some art, drafting, stamp and craft supplies.

3:50pm-5:00pm
Now you will be stopping at Root Candles at West Liberty. First off you will learn about the company's colorful history through a talk and slide show. Everyone will receive a votive candle. Following the talk be sure to check out the retail shop where you will find candles and many other wonderful gifts.

5:30pm-7:00pm
Dinner on your own and shopping at Lodi Station Outlets.
