A Joint Project with Ohio's Lorain, Medina and Wayne Counties

From the rolling hills of Amish Country, to the gentle slopes of Lake Erie, this tri-county region, just southwest of Cleveland, offers a variety of activities that families can explore to learn about the rural way of living.

Homemade ice cream, fresh from the dairy, scented geraniums, fresh strawberries and sweet corn, handmade crafts and meticulous gardens can be found on your journey through Fresh Ohio!, the counties of Lorain, Medina and Wayne.

This website will give you a start to discovering what the region has to offer. However, to fully appreciate the countryside we encourage you to explore and find your own favorites. MEDINA COUNTY ONE-DAY TOUR, ITINERARY #2

9:00am-10:00pm
Your first stop is Mapleside Farms where an "apple a day keeps the doctor away". Wander over to the Apple House for a tour and be sure to get your glass of cool refreshing apple cider. Before you leave check out the gift shop and bakery.

10:20am-11:20am
Stop by Boyert's Greenhouse and see all the plants and enjoy a garden talk. Then visit the Gift Shop and receive a small plant before you leave.

11:45am-12:45pm
Have a wonderful meal at Williams on the Lake. During lunch you can watch and learn some special cake decorating techniques.

1:00pm-2:00pm
Following lunch you will stop by Root Candles at West Liberty where you will learn about the colorful history of the company and receive a votive candle. Then you can take a look at all the gifts and candles in their retail shop.

2:15pm-3:15pm
Visit Historic Medina Square. Take your time and visit the many shops, maybe find that special gift you were looking for.

3:30pm-5:00pm
At America's Ice Cream and Dairy Museum housed at Elm Farm, enjoy homemade and premium ice cream at Once Upon a Sundae Ice Cream Parlor set in a Victorian atmosphere adorned with antiques and a gift shop. Also check out the Dairy Museum.

5:00pm
Depart for home.
